Bach’s Sonata No. 1 in G minor for solo violin (BWV 1001) is the first of a set of six such works for violin that Bach completed by the year 1720. Comprised of the typical four movements, the second movement, Fuga (Allegro), Bach later reworked for organ in his Prelude and Fugue (BWV 539) and for lute (Fugue, BWV 1000).
Enjoy the fourth movement, Presto, performed by esteemed violinist, Itzhak Perlman, here.
