I attended a private screening of The Music of Strangers last evening. It is the new documentary film by Morgan Neville on Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble.
The film is extremely engaging, both aurally and visually. And, fittingly, the Bach unaccompanied Cello Suites play major roles, from the film’s opening bars to a later segment featuring an intriguingly-beautiful duet for cello and voice.
