I’ve read, several times, that Bach was an influence on Ernest Hemingway. For a short while, Hemingway played cello (badly). His mother thought he had musical talent, but he did not agree.
Supposedly, studying and listening to Bach’s music, especially counterpoint, helped him to write the first paragraphs of A Farewell to Arms. He claimed that looking at art also influenced his writing and that, in general, keeping his eyes and ears open helped him immensely throughout his writing career.
I'd wager to say that listening to Bach could help any of us, no matter what discipline we're engaged in!
