Arvo Pärt, the Estonian composer born in 1935, is yet another example of a contemporary composer who was influenced by J. S. Bach. His Collage sur B-A-C-H (1964) for strings, oboe, harpsichord and piano is a work in three movements. Each movement is inspired by traditional Baroque forms: Toccata, Sarabande and Ricercar.
